Norfolk Admirals News Release

NORFOLK, VA - Justin Keller notched two assists, but the Hartford Wolf Pack (23-12-0-4) scored three third period goals to defeat the Norfolk Admirals (11-24-1-3) 4-2 on Friday night at Norfolk Scope Arena.

The Wolf Pack jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the game's first ten minutes, as three shots made their way through traffic and past Norfolk netminder Marc Denis. Dane Byers opened scoring at 3:21 with a shot from the right point that went through a maze of bodies and sticks. Corey Potter doubled Hartford's lead at 3:54 with a shot from the left point through traffic. Andrew Hutchinson's shot from the left point deflected off an Admirals stick and past Denis for a 3-0 lead at 9:39.

The Admirals cut their disadvantage to two goals with a five-on-three power play goal at 12:18. Justin Keller sent a shot from the bottom of the left circle that bounced off Hartford goaltender Al Montoya and wound up at the skates of Norm Milley in the crease. Milley kicked the puck to his forehand and slid it through Montoya's pads.

The Wolf Pack answered back with a power play goal of their own 4:21 into the second stanza, as Ryan Callahan beat Denis with a wrist shot from the right edge of the slot.

A two-on-one led to Norfolk's second goal at 12:19. Rob Klinkhammer and Karl Stewart executed a give-and-go, with Stewart passing to Klinkhammer at the bottom of the left circle for a chip shot that beat Montoya blocker-side. However, that goal would close out scoring with the Wolf Pack on top 4-2.

Marc Denis (26 shots, 22 saves) got the loss. Al Montoya (31 shots, 29 saves) picked up the victory.

Norfolk was 1-9 on the power play. Hartford was 1-5.
