Metairie, LA - The Zephyrs fell to the visiting Salt Lake Stingers on Tuesday 9-5. Seven runs in the last two innings put the game away for Salt Lake.

New Orleans led most of the game, going up 3-1 in the seventh inning on a sacrifice bunt by shortstop Jason Bowers. But the Stingers hit back-to-back home runs in the ninth inning to tie the game up and send it to extra innings at 5-5. Center fielder Brian Gordon hit a two-run homer, followed by a solo shot by right fielder Nick Gorneault.

The Stingers then put the game away in the 10th inning, scoring four runs.

Zephyrs reliever Matt White (0-1) gets a loss in his first decision of the year. White gave up all four 10th inning runs on three hits in only 2/3 of an inning of play.

For the Stingers, relief pitcher Eric Cyr (2-1) got the win, allowing only one hit and no runs in one inning.

With the series tied 1-1, the teams will continue on Wednesday with a 7:05 PM CT contest.
