Sioux City, IA: The Sioux City Explorers announced today that the San Francisco GIants have purchased the contract of RHP Mitch Wylie. Wylie will return to Sioux City from Edmonton on Monday and then will head to join the Giants triple A team on Tuesday. He is expected to make his scheduled start on Wednesday for Fresno.
Wylie has been the X's ace since joining the team at the start of spring training. In five starts this season, Mitch has left the game leading or tied each time. In those games, the X's lost the lead three times and won two of the other games. Mitch currently sits with a 1-0 record and a 3.00 ERA in 33 innings of work. He has struck out 22 batters and walked only five.
The X's also announced today that they have signed RHP Travis Dressler. Dressler played his college ball at the University of Mary in North Dakota. He joined the team today in Calgary.
