St. Paul, Minn.—Billy Munoz had three hits and scored two runs to lead the St. Paul Saints to a 6-3 victory over the Gary SouthShore RailCats on Sunday afternoon. The loss dropped the RailCats to 12-10 on the season and 3-4 on their seven game roadtrip.

St. Paul scored single runs in the first and fourth innings before the RailCats tied the game in the fifth. Jose Yepez was hit by a pitch and Steve Haake singled to right to move Yepez to third. Jay Pecci's sacrifice fly to right brought in Yepez. Haake stole second and went to third on David Weiner's infield single. Anthony Iapoce's sacrifice fly liner to center brought in Haake to make it a 2-2 game.

But St. Paul answered with three runs in the bottom of the fifth against RailCats starter Greg Bruso (0-3). Donny Leon's two-out, two-run single to right broke the 2-2 tie, and another run scored on the same play when RailCats right fielder Scott Samuels bobbled the base hit.

St. Paul's Jeremy Frost hit a solo home run in the sixth to make it a 6-2 game, and Gary's Scott Samuels homered to right to lead-off the eighth to close out the scoring.

The RailCats play seven home games in eight days beginning Monday at U. S. Steel Yard when they host Sioux Falls starting at 7:00 PM. Jamie Bennett (2-1, 6.12) will pitch for Gary.

Notes: Samuels went 2 for 4 to close out an excellent road trip. He 10 hits in 16 at bats including two home runs on the trip. Anthony Iapoce went 2 for 4 to extend his hitting streak to 11 straight games. Jason Colson had two hits and a walk for the RailCats.
