June 12, 2005 - Northern League (NL)
Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release
The Gary SouthShore RailCats have announced the following roster changes:
Pitcher Willie Glen and infielder Eric McNamee have been signed as free agents. Infielder Jose Gutierrez has been traded to Windy City of the Frontier League. Second baseman Curt Lee has been placed on the seven day disabled list, retroactive to June 10.
Glen was the starting pitcher in game one of Saturday's doubleheader, allowing one run in three innings. He pitched earlier this season with the Birmingham Barons (Chicago White Sox Double-A affiliate). He has also pitched in the Blue Jays, Phillies, and Devil Rays organizations.
McNamee is a professional rookie who played college baseball at Middle Tennessee State University.
Lee was hit by a pitch on Thursday in Joliet and suffered a bone bruise. He is batting .321 with no home runs and 10 RBI in 18 games without an error at second base.
Gutierrez went 0 for 3 in two games with the RailCats.
The club's roster is at the Northern League limit of 22. An updated roster is attached.
