Sioux City-----Youske Inoguchi's two-run double in the seventh inning gave the Explorers an 8-6 lead as the X's defeated Winnipeg 8-7 here Sunday. The win enabled the Explorers to take two of three from the Goldeyes as the Explorers finished the six-game home stand winning four games.

Saturday, the Explorers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning and Sunday on a two-run home run by Wally Backman, Jr., the Explorers had a 2-0 lead in the first inning again. It was Backman's first home run of the season as the Explorers also contributed later in the game with his first triple of the season.

With the Explorers trailing 6-2 in the sixth inning, Kris Sanchez hit a two-run home run, his 14th of the season to pull the Explorers to within two runs. Ryan Priddy followed with a two-out single that cut the Winnipeg lead to 6-5. In the seventh inning, Backman tripled and Peter Barrows singled him home to tie the game at 6-6. It extended Barrows hitting streak to 12 games. Then with two out in the seventh Inoguchi doubled to left center field to drive home the go-ahead runs.

Andrew Snowden, in relief, picked up his first win of the year while Chris Bodishbaugh pitched the ninth and recorded his 17th save of the season.

The Explorers will have Monday off and then start a six-game road trip to the Lone Star State beginning with a three-game series at Grand Prairie on Tuesday and then on to El Paso for three games Friday-Sunday. After another off-day next Monday, the Explorers will return home on Tuesday, August 14th for a three-game series at Lewis and Clark Park against Rockland of the Can-Am League.
