THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia snapped a two-game losing streak with a 4-2 win on Sunday afternoon over the Greensboro Grasshoppers. The Hoppers took the lead in the bottom of the third on a single and an error, but the Power rallied back with a three run half of the fourth. Chase Simpson hit a solo home run off Tyler Kolek, Cole Tucker drove in one with a sac fly and Pablo Reyes singles in Jeff Roy. Greensboro got one run back in the fifth to cut their deficit down to one. West Virginia added and insurance run in the top of the ninth on a Jordan Luplow infield base hit. Alex McRae pitched six innings for the win, Jake Burnette went two for the hold and Nick Neumann worked the ninth for his fourth save. Kolek, the top prospect in the Miami Marlins system, was charged with the loss.

END ON A HIGH NOTE: West Virginia and Greensboro close their four game set tonight. The Power lead the all-time series 73-69. Greensboro, however, leads the series 52-38 since West Virginia became a Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate. The Power are now 35-38 all-time at NewBridge Bank Park, which opened in 2005.

BOTTOMS UP: The bottom third of the Power order paced Sunday's win over the Grasshoppers. The trio of Elvis Escobar, Tyler Filliben and Jeff Roy went 5-10 combined with two walks, three stolen bases and three runs scored.

TAKE A HIKE: West Virginia batters walked six times in Sunday's win. Jordan Luplow became the second Power player to walk three times in one game this season. The base on balls count was just one off the club's season high of seven on April 18 at Lexington.

STREAK SNAPPED: Cole Tucker's hitting streak was stopped at 11 with an 0-4 performance on Sunday. The shortstop hit .333 during his streak, which began on April 16 at Lexington.

HIGH QUALITY: Alex McRae pitched six innings for the second time in his career and the first time this season. It was the second quality start recorded by a Power pitcher this season (Miguel Rosario- April 15). McRae's first career quality start was August 16, 2014, against the Batavia, also a Marlins affiliate.

EIGHT STRAIGHT: Pablo Reyes's hitting streak has reached eight in a row. The Power infielder is batting .300 during his streak with one home run and five runs batted in. This streak had matched the second longest by a Power player this season and trails only Cole Tucker's 11 game streak that ended on Sunday.

LEFT AT A LOSS: The Power went 2-8 with runners in scoring position on Sunday. West Virginia is now 4-24 with runners in scoring position during this series and have stranded 31 runners on base.

APRIL TO APRIL: Over 20 April games this season, West Virginia went 13-7, batted .267 with nine home runs and held a staff earned run average of 3.66. After the first month of the 2014 season, the Power were 9-17, had hit .254 with four home runs and held a staff ERA of 3.75.

POWER PROMO UPDATE- MAY 9: West Virginia will host Superhero Night on Saturday, May 9 at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive an official West Virginia Power superhero cape. Kids 12 and under will receive free admission if they come to the box office in costume.

POWER POINTS: Jerrick Suiter was placed on the Power Disabled List Friday. The move was made retroactive to April 29, so Suiter could be activated as early as Tuesday...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 3-2 at St. Louis in 14 innings on Sunday. The Pirates were swept in the three game series with each game going to extra innings and the Pirates scoring a total of four runs... Indianapolis beat Louisville 6-2... Altoona edged Erie 7-4. Josh Bell went 3-3 with two runs batted in... Bradenton beat St. Lucie 11-4 on the strength of 17 hits.
