TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

Fuesser: Allowed 0 R on 2 H with 0 BB and 1 K over 2.0 relief IP on 4/10-1 vs. SAV (9-1 WVP)

POWER REPLAY: West Virginia lost 13-2 Wednesday night to Asheville. Matt Curry drove in a run in the first, and Gift Ngoepe hit his first home run in the sixth, but that was all the offense the Power could muster against Edwar Cabrera and the Tourists. Asheville scored four in the second, three in the fourth , and two runs in each inning from the sixth through the eighth. Brandon Cumpton took the loss after allowing seven runs in four innings, while Cabrera struck out eight to earn the win.

TOURISTS TRAVEL WELL: West Virginia and Asheville continue their series in Charleston tonight, and it is the visitors who have played better at Appalachian Power Park since 2005. The Tourists hold the edge in Charleston with 17 wins in 30 games. The Power trail the all-time overall set 28-23.

ON THE ROAD: West Virginia embarks on its first road trip of 2011 after tonight's series finale with Asheville. The Power open a four-game set at Augusta Friday night at 7:35, and start a five game series in Kannapolis on Tuesday. West Virginia's next homestand starts on April 25 with five games against Bryce Harper's Hagerstown Suns and concludes with a four game series against Greensboro. The Power went 31-39 on the road during the 2010 season.

ONE TIME THROUGH: After one turn through the starting rotation, Power starters were 2-1 with a 3.42 ERA during those five starts covering 23.2 innings pitched. West Virginia starters struck out 20 batters on the heels of Tuesday's nine strikeout effort by Zack Von Rosenberg, Not to be outdone, Power relievers had an ERA of 1.55, with each member of the bullpen having at least one appearance over the first five games.

BACK FOR MORE: Rogelio Noris hit 15 home runs for West Virginia during the 2010 season and enters the year eighth all-time in Power history in the category. Stephen Chapman holds the single-season record with 24, which is also the most by any player during his stint with West Virginia. Noris is two behind Andrew LaFave's 17 for seventh all-time and four away from moving into the top five.

NEW SKIPPER: Gary Robinson takes over the helm for the 2011 season. Robinson holds a career record of 71-80 after two seasons with State College in the New York-Penn League. Former Power manager Gary Green is still in the Pirates organization, now serving as a roving minor league infield coordinator.

ROSTER RUNDOWN: The 2011 Power roster features 16 players drafted by Pittsburgh within the last two years, four players who saw South Atlantic League action in 2010 with the Power, and four ranked within Baseball America's top 25 for the entire Pirates organization. Rogelio Noris, Zach Foster, Jairo Marquez, and Andy Vasquez all saw action in 2010 with the Power. Zack Von Rosenberg rates ninth followed by Colton Cain (13), Zach Dodson (18), and Mel Rojas Jr. (23).

POWER POINTS: West Virginia plays 14 home games during April and nine on the road. The Power went 9-12 during April of 2010, hit .239, and held a staff ERA of 3.80... Rogelio Noris and Kawika Emsley-Pai are the only players who have not reached on a base hit this season... Kevin Decker leads all Power relief pitchers with six innings pitched this season split between two relief appearances.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh was shutout 6-0 by Milwaukee... Indianapolis gave up five runs in the first inning during a 10-4 loss against Louisville... Altoona slipped at Akron 3-2... Bradenton trailed 9-0 after five innings during a 9-2 loss to Jupiter.
