
Gnats Opening Night Is Tomorrow

Savannah, GA ¬" The Sand Gnats, the Class a affiliate of the New York Mets, are back tomorrow night--Friday, April 15, 2011--when they host the Greenville Drive, the Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, in the home opener at Historic Grayson Stadium. The Gnats, the 2010 First-Half Champions, began the season with an eight-game road trip.
First pitch on Opening Night is scheduled for 7:05 pm. Gates will open at 5:00 pm. Fans are encouraged to come early to enjoy the pre-game festivities and enjoy an afternoon on the Stadium Plaza. Fans who purchase their tickets online at sandgnats.com and select the print-at-home option can by-pass the ticket window and go right to the gate of Historic Grayson Stadium.
Opening Night will be much, much more than a baseball game. Opening Night will feature:
The 3rd Infantry Division Honor Guard from Fort Stewart, Georgia presenting our Nation ¬â¢s colors during the National Anthem.
The Opening of Captain Morgan ¬â¢s Cove, the Gnats new full-service bar on the top deck of Land Shark Landing
Live music pre-game from the Savannah Stompers, performing on the newly-expanded Stadium Plaza pre-game
Pre-game pyrotechnics
Face painting and special kids entertainment from Silly Dilly the Clown
A magnet schedule for the first 2,000 fans courtesy of the US Coast Guard

A Post-Game Fireworks show
Opening Night is the beginning of the fun at Historic Grayson Stadium this year as the Gnats start a nine-game home stand on Friday. Game two of the Gnats ¬â¢ 2011 home schedule, Saturday night, April 16th, and all Saturday nights in 2011, will feature post-game fireworks. The first 2,000 fans who attend Saturday night ¬â¢s game will also receive a magnet schedule, courtesy of the US Guard.
