Calgary Hitmen News Release

Calgary, AB - The Western Hockey League leading Prince Albert Raiders beat the Calgary Wranglers 8-2 on Friday night at the Stampede Corral.

It was the third and final game of "The Corral Series" presented by Adrenalin Source for Sports as the Calgary Hitmen were branded Wranglers for a night, saluting a franchise that played 10 seasons in the Western Hockey League from 1977-87.

Montreal Canadiens prospect Cole Fonstad led the Raiders scoring twice and adding three assists for a team high five points. Noah Gregor tallied a hat-trick with Dante Hannoun, Sergei Sapego, and Eric Pearce adding singles.

For the Wranglers, Riley Stotts and James Malm lit the lamp. Malm scored the game's final goal on a penalty shot in what could be the last competitive hockey game played in the Corral.

Final shots were 45-23 for the Raiders in front of 5,720 fans.

With the win Prince Albert improves to 44-7-0-3 while the loss sees Calgary's record fall to 27-20-4-1.

The Hitmen will now get set to return to the Scotiabank Saddledome on Sunday, Feb. 10 against the Moose Jaw Warriors. It's a 4:00 p.m. start for the Family Game presented by Calgary Co-op and Sunday Funday presented by Ricky's All Day Grill. Activities include face painters, giveaways and a post-game family skate that is FREE with a game ticket.
