
Wranglers Win Shootouts On Consecutive Nights

Las Vegas, NV -The Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Toledo Storm 6-5 in a shootout on Friday night in front of 4,692 fans at the Orleans Arena. Defenseman Christian Chartier scored the game-winning goal in the 10th round of the shootout for the one-goal win. Captain Jason McBain and center Rejean Stringer each scored a goal and added two assists. Goalie Sebastien Centomo stopped 32 shots in regulation and nine of ten in the shootout for his second straight win. The same two teams meet again Saturday night at the Orleans at 7:05 pm.
In the first period the Storm struck first as Tyler Knight registered his first of two goals on the night for the 1-0 Toledo lead just 1:37 into the game. The Wranglers countered ten minutes later when Darren Lynch scored his first professional goal to tie the game 1-1. Las Vegas took the team's first lead of the season at home, when Jason McBain connected for a power-play tally at 14:32 for the 2-1 lead. Toledo's Knight added his second of the period to tie the game 2-2 after one period of play.
In the second period, McBain set up right wing Dan Tudin for his first goal as a Wrangler with only three second remaining on the clock for the 3-2 lead.
Toledo charged back in the third with two goals in the first 3:20 of play. First, winger Ty Hennes scored just 1:30 into the period. Less than two minutes later, Hennes set up defenseman Dan Eberle for the go-ahead goal. Nick Parillo made it a 5-3 Toledo lead when he tallied his first of the year while the Wranglers were on the power play at 7:27. Las Vegas charged back to trim the Toledo lead to one, when Dana Lattery scored his team leading third goal of the season at 7:48 on the power play. Stringer would tie the game 5-5 with only 4:44 left on the clock, as he knocked in a rebound to send the game to overtime.
After a scoreless overtime, the teams went to a sudden death shootout which lasted 10 rounds. After the Wranglers Centomo stopped Toledo's Shawn Collymore, Chartier slapped a shot past Toledo's Scott Fankhouser for the win.
Las Vegas out shot Toledo 48-37 on the evening.
