Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release
FLORENCE, SC â The Pee Dee Pride announced today that the team, in conjunction with the Marine Corps League, will hold a Toys for Tots Drive at the game on Friday, November 26, against the South Carolina Stingrays.
All fans who attend that night's game are encouraged to bring a new toy to the game to donate to Toys for Tots. Barrels will be placed along the outer concourse of the Florence Civic Center for fans to drop their toys in throughout the game.
"The Pride are thrilled to join the Marine Corps League in their mission with the Toys for Tots," Pride Director of Community Affairs Brian Davison said. "We share a common interest of providing children of the Pee Dee Area with the experience of Christmas. By getting involved with this organization we are helping to build a stronger community. The Pride encourage everyone in the Pee Dee area to bring toys to the game on November 26."
"The Marine Corps League is thankful that the Pee Dee Pride have joined forces with our organization for the Toys for Tots campaign this season," J.J. Williams, retired U.S. Marine said. "We both hope that a large number of people will come to game and contribute to this worthy cause."
The Pride are back in action tonight, traveling to North Charleston for the first of back-to-back road contests with the South Carolina Stingrays. Both games start at 7:00, and can be heard on WDAR Sunny 105.5, starting with the Palmetto Chiropractic Pre-Game Show at 6:40.
Pee Dee returns home on Saturday, hosting the Columbia Inferno at 7:30 p.m. on NASCAR Night presented by Darlington Raceway. During the second intermission of the game, the Pride will hold the eighth annual Wiener Dog Nationals. In addition, the first 1,000 fans in attendance receive a free coozie courtesy of Micky Finn's. Tickets are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (843) 679-9333 or www.ticketmaster.com.
