
Wranglers Take First Place In Pacific Division - Kenady Adds Four Points in 5-1 Win

Las Vegas, NV âThe Las Vegas Wranglers beat the Fresno Falcons 5-1 on Tuesday night. Marc Magliarditi led the Wranglers stopping 35 of 36 Falcons shots for the win. Greg Day, Chris Kenady, and Tom Nelson combined for 10 points in the victory. Kenady scored twice and added two assists, pushing his total to 12 points in his last six games. Greg Day scored once and added an assist while line mate Tom Nelson added three assists. Mike McBain and Eric Schneider also scored in the win. The victory gives Las Vegas sole possession of first place in the Pacific Division. Las Vegas will host Texas at 7:05 pm Wednesday night at the Orleans Arena.
The Wranglers took a 1-0 lead on Chris Kenady's goal at 13:09 of the first period. Kenady knocked in a rebound off a shot from the point.
In the second period, Fresno tied the game 1-1 as Blair Clarence scored his fourth of the season. Clarence wristed a shot five-hole past Magliarditi at 14:13. The Wranglers countered when Greg Day beat Terry Friesen on a breakaway at 16:15, giving Las Vegas the 2-1 lead.
Las Vegas added to their lead early in the third period on a goal by Mike McBain. McBain blasted a slap shot from the point, extending the Wranglers lead to 3-1 just 52 seconds into the period. Eric Schneider gave the Wranglers a 4-1 lead when he added a breakaway goal of his own at 8:24. Schneider picked the puck up at the blue line and skated in untouched for his ninth goal of the season. Kenady added his second goal of the night to make it 5-1. The Wranglers' winger launched a slap shot from the slot past Friesen to end the scoring at 15:45 of the third period.
