IceGators Kick off Acadiana Proud Project

Louisiana IceGators News Release
Lafayette, LA â The Louisiana IceGators announced today they will kick off the Acadiana Proud Project this weekend with Pride In America Weekend at the Cajundome. The IceGators will host the Mississippi Sea Wolves on January 10, 2004 at 7:05 p.m. and the Pensacola Ice Pilots on Sunday, January 11 at 4:05 p.m.
As part of the Acadiana Proud Project, the IceGators are collecting donation items to send to Acadiana's troops stationed overseas. The IceGators will wear commemorative American Flag jerseys for the two games this weekend. The jerseys will be auctioned off to raise money to buy supplies for Acadiana's troops overseas.
Bring any of the following donation items to any IceGators game in the month of January and receive $2 off an IceGators game ticket, good for any game played in January 2004:
- Toothbrushes/Toothpaste
Shampoo
Magazines
Long Distance Calling Cards
Gum
Soap, especially the waterless type
Playing cards
Powdered Gatorade/Powerade
Chex Mix/Snack Mix
Beef Jerky (please no pork products)
Writing Paper/Envelopes
Deodorant
The IceGators are also collecting the name, rank, unit and address of Acadiana's friends and loved ones stationed overseas.
