
Wranglers take down Condors

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - G John DeCaro stopped all 37 shots he faced to lead the Las Vegas Wranglers to a 4-0 win against the Bakersfield Condors, before 4,325 fans at Rabobank Arena Wednesday night.
The Wranglers (16-15-3, 35pts) connected with a goal in the first minute and a goal in the last minute of the first period to open up a 2-0 lead, despite 17 first-period saves by G Yutaka Fukufuji. Las Vegas also led in shots on goal through one, 19-14.
Las Vegas added to its lead 7:12 into the second period when C Hugo Carpentier netted a shorthanded goal on a two-on-one opportunity. The Condors (12-20-4, 28pts) again sent 14 shots on net in the period, but G John DeCaro kept the Wranglers in the 3-0 lead with 28 saves through two frames.
Carpentier struck again with his second of the game, 59 seconds into the third period. Bakersfield fired nine more shots on goal in the final frame, but DeCaro kept the puck out of the net to complete the 37-save shutout and lead Las Vegas to the 4-0 win.
Notes from the Nest:
The Condors homestand concludes this Friday night against the Phoenix RoadRunners. That game will feature the Condors Soap Dispenser Giveaway, sponsored by KBFX-FOX 58 and Cal Water, during which the first 2,000 kids, 12-and-under, will receive a Colonel Claw'd Soap Dispenser!
