Morin Named Alternate Captain for ECHL All-Star Game

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays are pleased to announce that the ECHL has named Travis Morin an alternate captain for the ECHL All-Star game next week.

Morin, who is making his second straight All-Star appearance, will be in the starting line-up for the American Conference. The Brooklyn Park, MN native leads the Stingrays with 44 points (11g, 33a) and is second in the ECHL in assists.

Morin will be joined by Kevin Baker, who will be the American Conference captain, and Barrett Ehgoetz as the other American alternate. On the National Conference side, the captain is Matt Shasby with alternates Kenny MacAulay and Cory Urquhart.

Morin is one of three Stingrays to make the game, along with Michal Neuvirth and Johann Kroll. The Reading Royals, the City of Reading and the Sovereign Center will host the 17th Annual ECHL All-Star Game on Jan. 21, 2009 and the 12th Annual All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 20, 2009.
