Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL today announced that the organization will host the second annual ‘Pink In The Rink' celebration presented by Perrotto Builders, Ltd., on Saturday, February 21, 2009, when the Royals face the Wheeling Nailers, at the Sovereign Center (7:05 pm). That night, the Sovereign Center will be resplendent in pink, and the game night activities will be dedicated towards furthering awareness of the efforts to find a cure for breast cancer, recognizing breast cancer survivors, remembering loved ones who have battled cancer, and raising funds for Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County (BCSS). The first 6,000 fans in attendance at the Pink in the Rink game will receive a pink breast cancer awareness magnet.

With respect to raising funds, five dollars of every ticket purchased at the Royals' office for the team's match-up against the Nailers on February 21 will be donated to BCSS. The Royals will also wear special pink jerseys that night which will be auctioned off after the game with the net proceeds going to BCSS. Also, as with last year's PIR game, the Royals would respectfully challenge our fans and local business entities to participate in our "Goals for a Cure" program, under which you can donate either a flat fee or a certain amount per goal scored that night, which the Royals' organization will match dollar-for-dollar. For more information on how to become involved in the efforts of the Royals and Perrotto Builders, Ltd. to raise awareness and funds in the effort to find a cure for breast cancer, check the Royals' website www.royalshockey.com or call 610-898-PUCK.

The Royals return to action on Friday (January 16 @ 7:05 pm) when the Wheeling Nailers visit the Sovereign Center for the first time this season. Friday's game will be broadcast live on the Royals Radio Network Presented by Transmissions by Arbogast (True Oldies WRAW 1340 am in Reading; and The Ticket WLAN 1390 am in Lancaster), as well as on the internet via webcast hosted by Sportsjuice.com, which can be accessed through the Royals' website.
