Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Bakersfield Condors 5-2 in front of 5,278 fans on Friday night at the Orleans Arena. Forwards Shawn Limpright and Sean O'Connor each scored a goal and added an assist in the win. With the Las Vegas win and Alaska loss at Utah, the Wranglers are now tied for first place with the Aces at 104 points aside. Goalie Marc Magliarditi set a new career high for wins in one season, picking up his 33rd on 27 saves. Las Vegas will host Utah on Saturday night at 7:05 pm.
In the first period, Kevin Kotyluk scored on the power play for Bakersfield at 3:28, giving the Condors a 1-0 lead. Wranglers' forward Dan Tudin tied the game with 52 seconds left in the period, scoring his 32nd of the season.
In the second period, Alexandre Buldoc scored a short-handed goal for the Condors at 4:44, putting Bakersfield ahead 2-1. Las Vegas forward Shawn Limpright tied the game at 13:43 of the period, scoring his eighth goal of the season. Wranglers' defenseman Scott Schoneck scored on the power play at 15:09 giving Las Vegas the 3-2 lead.
In the third period, Todd Alexander scored his 12th of the season, extending the Wranglers lead to 4-2 at 3:42. Left wing Sean O'Connor scored the final goal of the night at 15:52, for the 5-2 final.
Tomorrow night, the Wranglers host the Utah Grizzlies. Saturday night, Nickelodeon's Dora the Explorer will appear at the game. Also, fans may attend the Port of Subs Pre-Game Party from 4:30 - 6:30 pm in the concourse of the Orleans Arena.
Playoff tickets are now available for the 2006 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Fans may purchase a strip of tickets that will include every home playoff game for as little as $200.00 per seat. Wranglers season ticket holders and mini-plan holders have the first right of refusal for their seats.
