Tuma gets call to AHL

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush, along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that defenseman Martin Tuma has been recalled to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

Tuma, 20, is making his second trip to the AHL this season after posting six assists and 75 penalty minutes in 48 games with the Everblades this season. The native of the Czech Republic previously skated in one game with the Americans on December 23. The former 5th round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2003 is in his first full professional season after playing in just five games at the AHL level last year with San Antonio, where he collected his first professional point with an assist.

Prior to turning pro Tuma spent two seasons playing at the junior level with Sault-Ste. Marie in the Ontario Hockey League where he tallied 28 points (10g, 18a) and 155 PIM in 118 games.

The Everblades return to action tonight when they take on the Charlotte Checkers at 8:00 p.m. from the Charlotte Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, NC.
