
Wranglers down Grizzlies 3-1

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Utah Grizzlies 3-1 in front of 6,261 fans on Saturday night at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers' goalie Mike McKenna made 27 saves for his fifth straight win. Forward Nick Anderson scored his eighth goal of the season and added an assist as Las Vegas improved to 26-3-3 at home. With the win, the Wranglers move to first place in the West Division with 106 points and they become only the seventh team in ECHL history to win 50 games in one season. Las Vegas will host the Stockton Thunder on Tuesday night at 7:05 pm.
In the first period, Nick Anderson scored on the power play at 18:24 of the period giving Las Vegas a 1-0 lead.
After a scoreless second period, defenseman Lee Green gave the Wranglers a 2-0 lead just 2:30 into the third period. Utah forward Barrett Ehgoetz answered back by scoring just 30-seconds later, putting the Grizzlies within one goal of Las Vegas at 3:06 of the period. Wranglers' forward Derek Edwardson scored 31-seconds later at 3:37 of the period, giving Las Vegas the 3-1 lead.
This coming Tuesday night, Las Vegas will host Stockton at 7:05 pm. The Sam Diego Gulls visit Las Vegas next Friday at 7:05 pm. The first 2,000 fans on March 31st receive a Wranglers trading card set.
Playoff tickets are now available for the 2006 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Fans may purchase a strip of tickets that will include every home playoff game for as little as $200.00 per seat. Fans may obtain playoff ticket information from the Wranglers' front office by calling 702-471-7825 (PUCK). Wranglers season ticket holders and mini-plan holders have the first right of refusal for their seats.
Tickets for all games are on sale now. Fans may purchase seats to all Wranglers home games at any of the following ticket locations: The Orleans Arena Box Office, Coast Casinos' showroom box offices at The Orleans, Gold Coast, South Coast and Suncoast, or at the Galleria Mall guest relations/ticket centers.
