
Wranglers End Preseason with 4-1 Win Over Roadrunners

Phoenix, AZ - The Las Vegas Wranglers defeated the Phoenix Roadrunners 4-1 at the Alltel Ice Den on Friday night. Aki Seitsonen, Nick Anderson, Tyler Mosienko and Scott Schoneck each scored for the Wranglers. Marc Magliarditi and Mike McKenna combined for 33 saves on 34 Phoenix shots. The Wranglers finish the preseason with a 2-0-0 record. Las Vegas will visit Fresno for the season opener on Friday, October 20th at 7:35 pm.
In the first period, Las Vegas opened up the scoring with the only tally of the first period. Center Aki Seitsonen snapped a shot from the right-wing circle past Phoenix goaltender Cody Rudcowsky just 1:31 into the game. Seitsonen's power-play goal was assisted by Jason Krischuk and Kelly Czuy. Las Vegas headed to the locker room after one period of play with a 1-0 lead intact.
In the second period, Las Vegas expanded its' lead to 3-0 with goals by Nick Anderson and Tyler Mosienko. The Wranglers notched their second goal of the night on the power play as Mosienko fired in a rebound off a Steve Crampton shot at 3:47. At 6:26 of the middle period Nick Anderson picked off a pass and snapped a shot over the shoulder of Phoenix goaltender Josh Tordjman, expanding the Las Vegas lead to 3-0.
In the third period, Las Vegas and Phoenix traded goals with the Roadrunners striking first. Liam Lindstrom snuck in a shot from the right wing, beating Marc Magliarditi to trim the Wranglers lead to 3-1. Defenseman Scott Schoneck answered back for Las Vegas at 12:16 for the 4-1 final score.
Las Vegas will open their fourth season on Friday, October 20th at 7:35 pm in Fresno.
The Wranglers play all 36 home games at the Orleans Arena, located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
