Augusta, GA - One of the most popular players in recent Lynx history is back with the team, as Augusta announced they have invited Jamie Johnson to training camp with the club.

A fan favorite during the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons, Johnson scored a total of 24 goals and 86 points in 79 games with the club before being recalled to the Iowa Stars for 68 games last year. While with the Stars Johnson scored nine goals and 37 points during the regular season and collected four assists in seven playoff games as well. His rookie year Johnson posted 12 goals and 57 points in 71 games for the Louisiana IceGators and was named a Second Team ECHL All-Star.

"We're extremely pleased to have a proven scorer like Jamie in camp," said Lynx head coach and director of hockey operations Bob Ferguson. "He gives us yet another offensive threat."

This year Johnson was invited to ew York Islanders training camp, and also participated in camp with the Bridgeport SoundTigers before heading to Augusta. The 5-11, 185 lb. forward will be in the lineup for the Lynx tonight as they take on the Gwinnett Gladiators in the first of two pre-season games at 7:35 pm. All seats are $5, and tickets are available at the James Brown Arena box office. Come out and get your BLACK AND BLUE HOCKEY fix!
