
Worcester Sharks Announce Details for High School Hockey Showdown

WORCESTER, MA - Worcester Sharks President Michael A. Mudd announced today the details for the 2nd annual High School Hockey Showdown presented by the Massachusetts Army National Guard featuring the Shrewsbury Colonials and the Algonquin Tomahawks on Sunday, January 9 after the Sharks game vs. the Falcons at 3:00pm at the DCU Center this season.
Sunday, January 9 - Worcester Sharks vs. Springfield Falcons at 3pm
2nd annual High School Hockey Showdown (POSTGAME) GAME TO START APPROXIMATELY AT 5:30PM - immediately following the Sharks vs. Falcons)
The 2011 Showdown pits the varsity hockey teams from: Shrewsbury HS vs. Algonquin HS
* 2:00pm - DCU Center doors open
* 3:00pm - Sharks game
* 5:30pm - Shrewsbury vs. Algonquin take the ice for the SHOWDOWN
* Advance tickets are $11 for fans calling in asking about this game.
* Day of the game, fans mentioning the HS doubleheader will pay $15 at a table in the lobby
* Special visit from the Looney Tunes from Six Flags New England
This season, eight local high school varsity boy's hockey teams will skate on the DCU Center Ice on the same day as a Worcester Sharks game. Tickets cost just $11 in advance for each participating school, with one ticket to garner entry into the high school game and the Sharks game.
The remaining three high school hockey doubleheaders presented by the Massachusetts Army National Guard are listed below;
The 3rd annual High School Hockey Clash between the Hudson Hawks and the Marlboro Panthers will take place on Saturday, January 22 before the Sharks host the Sound Tigers at 7pm.
The 1st annual High School Hockey Faceoff will include the Auburn Rockets and the Wachusett Mountaineers on Saturday, January 29 before the Sharks host the Bruins.
The 5th annual High School Hockey Classic will showcase the St. John's Pioneers and the St. Peter Marian Guardians on Saturday, February 5 before the Sharks host the Bruins at 7pm.

On Wednesday, the Sharks host the Connecticut Whale at 7pm! Enjoy $1 hot dogs the entire game! Unemployed Sharks fans can receive up to four free tickets for their family with state ID and proof of unemployment courtesy of Sharks Charities.
After a rare Friday evening off, the Sharks travel to Bridgeport on Saturday for an 8pm tilt vs. the Sound Tigers.
