(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans Vice President of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan announced today that the Florida Panthers have reassigned defenseman Adam Comrie to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL. Comrie is scheduled to meet the team in Ft. Myers, Florida later today as the team prepares for a three-game set with the Florida Everblades.

Comrie, 20, joins the Cyclones after registering three assists and 10 penalty minutes in 17 games with the Amerks this season. A native of Kanata, Ontario, Comrie is currently in his first professional season after being selected in the third round (80th overall) by the Florida Panthers in the 2008 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-4, 213-pound blueliner played three seasons (2007-10) of major junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League. In 178 combined games with Saginaw and Guelph, Comrie posted 33 goals and 65 assists for 98 points to go along with 239 penalty minutes.

The Amerks finish up a five-game in seven-night stretch tonight as they take on the Lake Erie Monsters at Quicken Loans Arena in the heart of downtown Cleveland. The 7:00 p.m. bout will be the second meeting in six days between the North Division rivals this season and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk.
