
Woodchucks Hang on to Beat Fond Du Lac on the Road

Wausau, WIS - The Wisconsin Woodchucks played their second game in Fond du Lac against the Dock Spiders tonight. The Dock Spiders gave a good fight, but the Woodchucks were able to hang on for the win with a final score of 9-6.
The Woodchucks started out hot right off the bat as Javier Rosario hit a single in the first inning that drove in Byron Murray and Nate Stinson. Zach Klapak followed with another RBI single to get the 'Chucks up by 3-0. The Dock Spiders fought back in the bottom of the third, however, tying the game at 3-3, and then followed by pulling ahead 4-3 in the fourth inning.
The Woodchucks were able to regain the lead in the sixth inning after an RBI double by Zach Klapak. The 'Chucks added two more runs in the seventh to increase their lead to 7-4. Kyle Simmons scored off a wild pitch and Lawrence Cicileo scored an unearned run off a ground ball.
The Dock Spiders kept it close, cutting the Woodchucks lead to 7-6 in the eighth inning, but the Woodchucks answered back with another RBI single from Zach Klapak to make it 8-6. Then Klapak stole home to make it 9-6. Woodchucks closer Nolan Lebamoff went three up three down in the bottom of the ninth inning to maintain the lead, and the Woodchucks held on for the win. The Woodchucks are now 5-4 on the season.

Starting Pitcher Robert Wegielnik pitched three innings with four K's.
Zach Klapak was 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs, two of which got the 'Chucks back in the lead in the sixth inning. He also stole home in the ninth inning to increase the lead to 9-6.

The Woodchucks will head to Green Bay on Friday for their first match-up of the season before trading locations and facing off in Wausau at Athletic Park on Saturday, June 8th.
