
Woodchucks Bounce Back against Kenosha

Wausau, WIS - The Woodchucks came into tonight's game against looking to get the bats going against the Kenosha Kingfish after scoring only one run in yesterday's ballgame. Chucks designated hitter Alex Toral got the scoring going early with an RBI single to make it 1-0. It was then on to the bottom of the 7thwhen Chucks shortstop Javier Valdes came through with an RBI single to give the team a 2-0 lead. Chucks first basemen Dylan Criquet-Danielson added to that with an RBI double to make things 3-0.
After the Kingfish put a few runs up on the board, the Chucks got a huge insurance run from the Wausau native Payton Nelson in the bottom of the 7thto make the score 4-2.
Chucks starting pitcher Jake Gross had a very solid night on the mound going five innings giving up only two runs and one strikeout.
The Chucks got even more offensive from their first basemen when he added a big RBI single in the bottom of the 8thto make it 5-2.
After three impressive scoreless innings of relief by Zach De Le Garza, It was Chucks closer Lenny Gwizdala who came in to shut the door down for his fourth save of the season.
Top Performers
Chucks first basemen Dylan Criquet-Danielson was in the middle of the offense all night going 3-4 with a double and two RBI's.
Chucks designated hitter Alex Toral continued to see the ball well, going 2-4 with an RBI to push his average up to an impressive .406
Woodchucks closer Lenny Gwizdala continued to be dominate as he secured his fourth save of the season and is now an impressive 4/4 on save opportunities.

The Woodchucks begin a six game road trip tomorrow in Wisconsin Rapids and then they will be back at home at Athletic Park on Saturday June 16thas they host the Rockford Rivets.
