Rochester, MN - Andrew Mitchel (San Jose State) gave up just one-hit in his second start of the season, but St. Cloud fell to Rochester 6-0 on Friday night. The Rox registered five hits in the game, matching the same number that the Honkers had. St. Cloud also drew more walks than Rochester.

The game remained scoreless for the first three innings of play as it was a pitcher's duel early on. The Rox held the Honkers to zero hits until the bottom of the fourth inning, when Rochester had a bases clearing hit to give them an early lead. They then had a sac-fly to centerfield that scored a run from third base. The Honkers led 4-0 after four innings of play.

The bullpen looked strong for St. Cloud, including appearances from Zach Lauzon (Concordia St. Paul) and Abdallah Salman (Alcorn State), who combined for two innings pitched and gave up just one hit, walking none, and striking out one batter.

Landon Stephens (Miami-Ohio) registered a lead-off double to centerfield in the top of the third inning and recorded the only extra base hit for the Rox.

St. Cloud will get another chance at Rochester Saturday night at the Rock Pile as the two teams close out the series. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 PM. Be sure to arrive early as its Rox pint glass giveaway night presented by Miller Lite. It'll be available to the first 500 fans 21 and older.

The Rox are in their seventh season of Northwoods League Baseball in 2018. Single game and group tickets for the entire season are on sale now. For more information on purchasing tickets, visit the Rox Ticket Office on the west end of the Municipal Athletic Complex, call 320-240-9798 or visit www.stcloudrox.com.
