Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters lost to the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders for the first time at Witter Field. The Dock Spiders scored four runs in the first two innings off six hits to lead 4-0 after two. Fond du Lac starting pitcher Jon Young threw seven scoreless innings. The Dock Spiders scored again in the sixth from a RBI single and in the eight with a bases-loaded walk to make it 6-0.

The cranberry and gold weren't down and out as the bats came alive in the ninth. Jordan Wiley (Kalamazoo College) reached first on a walk and advanced to third base thanks to single from Jack-Thomas Wold (UNLV), his second of the night. Down to their last out, the Rafters scored two via a base hit from Josh Campbell (Stephen F. Austin). Fond du Lac decided to change pitchers and got the final out to hang on to a 6-2 win.

Jake Cook (1-1, 5.14) earned the loss, his first of the year. Dock Spiders righty Jon Young (1-0, 0.00) got his first win of the year in his start for Fond du Lac.

The Rafters begin the final series of the homestand tomorrow afternoon hosting the Wisconsin Woodchucks for the second time this season. First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m.
