Wolves Lose in Dramatic Fashion to Suns

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves (3-7) erased an 11-point deficit in the final 4:05 minutes of Saturday night's contest before losing 109-107 to the Northern Arizona Suns (3-10) at Wells Fargo Arena.

Jonathan Stark tied the game at 107-107 with a deep three-pointer with 4.0 seconds remaining. In the ensuing possession, Stark fouled Juwan Evans from deep with 1.7 seconds left, fouling out of the game moments after tying the score.

Evans hit two free throws to seal the game for Northern Arizona.

Darius Johnson-Odom scored a team-high 26 points for the Wolves, shooting 9-of-14 from the field. The former Marquette guard shot 3-of-6 from deep.

As a team the Wolves shot 36.6% (15-of-41) from extended range.

Minnesota Timberwolves two-way forward Keita Bates-Diop tallied 19 points and 12 rebounds while posting his second double-double in the NBA G League.

Stark finished with 11 points and a game-high 12 assists, a new career-high.

Defensively, Iowa allowed Northern Arizona to shoot 51.3% from the floor and 42.9% from the three-point line. The Suns scored their second-highest point total of the season in the win.

Evans was red hot in tonight's contest, scoring a game-high 33 points. The former Oklahoma State Cowboy shot 13-of-19 from the field.

University of Iowa standout Peter Jok finished with 15 points and eight rebounds in his second game played at Wells Fargo Arena this season.

The Wolves finish their back-to-back tomorrow night against the Memphis Hustle at Wells Fargo Arena. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CT.
