Indiana Mad Ants News Release
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants defeated the Windy City Bulls, 98-77, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Saturday night in front of a crowd of 2,232. Pacers assignee Alize Johnson led Fort Wayne (5-4) with 22 points and 17 rebounds. It was his team-leading seventh double-double of the season.
Despite trotting out the sixth different starting lineup this season, the Mad Ants stymied Windy City (5-9) all night on the defensive end. The Bulls were held to only a 31.2% shooting clip, as Fort Wayne would build a lead as large as 30 on the night. The Mad Ants never trailed.
Omari Johnson totaled a season-high 19 points and eight rebounds. Davon Reed and Rob Gray each added 17 points for the Mad Ants.
Stephan Hicks was held to only nine points on the night, but was able to pass Tony Mitchell to move into fifth on the team's all-time scoring list with 1,656 points now in his G League career.
Windy City was led by Tre'Darius McCallum's 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting off the bench. Fresh off his career-night in Maine on Thursday, Rawle Alkins finished with another double-double performance featuring 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Fort Wayne and Windy City are both back in action on Monday night. The Mad Ants will host Canton at 7 p.m., while Windy City will welcome South Bay to Hoffman Estates.
Monday is "Money Monday", presented by 3 Rivers Credit Union at the Coliseum. Tickets are available by visiting ftwaynemadants.com or calling 260-469-4667.
