Wolves give it the old college try

The Chicago Wolves have signed forwards MATT ANDERSON and CURTIS FRASER to Amateur Tryout Contracts after the pair recently wrapped up their final seasons of collegiate action.

FRASER set career highs with 19 goals, 16 assists and 35 points in 37 outings with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (CCHA) this season during his senior year. Overall, the 24-year-old forward tallied 59 goals and 114 points in 112 career matchups with the Nanooks spanning four seasons (2003-2007).

The Surrey, British Columbia, native, ranked second on his collegiate squad in scoring during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. FRASER was awarded the Doug Desorcie Top Rookie Award and earned Honorable Mention for the CCHA All-Rookie team in 2003-04 after tying for fourth on the Nanooks with 12 goals and 24 points during his freshman season.

ANDERSON picked up nine goals, 19 points and 28 penalty minutes in 36 outings with the University of Massachusetts-Amherst (Hockey East) during his senior campaign this season. Overall, the 24-year-old forward amassed 57 assists and 90 points in 126 career outings with the Minutemen spanning four seasons (2002-03; 2004-07).

The West Islip, N.Y., native, set career highs with 10 goals, 21 assists and 31 points in 2002-03, which ranked second among Hockey East freshman and 13th among NCAA first-year players.

In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
