Hartford, March 30, 2007: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager/head coach Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the team has recalled goaltender Alex Westlund from the Charlotte Checkers of the ECHL.

Westlund joins the Wolf Pack for his second stint with the club this year. In four previous games with the Pack, the former Yale University Eli was 1-1-0 with a 1.87 goals-against average and a 93.8% save percentage. That included a victory in his first Wolf Pack appearance February 18th at Providence, in which he stopped 26 shots in a 4-1 triumph. In 25 ECHL games with the Checkers, Westlund has compiled a record of 16-7-1, and carries a GAA of 2.73 and a save percentage of 91.4, with three shutouts.

The Wolf Pack are back in action tonight in Bridgeport, facing off at 7:30 in a GEICO Connecticut Cup battle with the Sound Tigers. The Pack then play a home-and-home series with the Atlantic Division-leading Manchester Monarchs. The Monarchs visit the Hartford Civic Center tomorrow night (7:00), on Guaranteed Win Night. If the Wolf Pack do not defeat the Monarchs, then fans can redeem their ticket stubs at the Civic Center box office for complimentary tickets to Wednesday night's home game vs. Portland. Also, the first 5,000 fans into Saturday's game will receive a Wolf Pack tenth-anniversary commemorative T-shirt. The Wolf Pack and Monarchs will tangle again Sunday in Manchester, with faceoff at 4:05.
