On Wednesday, Keith Aucoin (1g, 4a), Ryan Bayda (2g, 2a) and Matt Murley (2g, 1a) led Albany to a wild 8-6 win over Syracuse... Martin St. Pierre had a goal and two assists in Norfolk's 6-2 win over Philadelphia... David McKee made 17 saves for his second AHL win and first shutout, leading Portland past Manchester, 3-0... Colin Murphy scored twice as Toronto edged Rochester, 5-4... Rookies Alex Bourret, Lauri Korpikoski and Corey Potter each had three points in Hartford's 7-2 win over Bridgeport.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Milwaukee is suddenly just five points off the pace in the West Division heading into Friday night's visit to first-place Chicago... The Admirals are 7-1-0-3 in their last 11 games overall and 5-1-1-0 against the Wolves this season, powered by Brandon Segal with six goals in the head-to-head series... Pekka Rinne is 5-0-3 in his last eight decisions for Milwaukee, including a 40-save effort in Wednesday's 3-2 shootout loss at Grand Rapids... Chicago's lineup boasts four of the top 10 scorers in the AHL, led by former Admiral Darren Haydar (110 points)... Brett Sterling (7g, 8a in 9gp) and Jason Krog (4g, 12a in 10gp) bring long scoring streaks into the weekend for the Wolves... Chicago defenseman Brian Sipotz continues to lead the league with a plus-31 rating.

Norfolk sits atop the East Division, but Hershey and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton could determine the eventual champion as they play each other four times over the final 17 days of the season, including twice this weekend... Beginning with the Bears' 3-2 shootout win over the Penguins on Feb. 21, Hershey has gone 12-2-1-1, while Wilkes-Barre is 13-4-0-1... Kyle Wilson is on a six-game scoring streak for the Bears (4g, 9a), and Matt Hendricks has scored six goals in his last five contests... Kyle Brodziak has recorded three straight multiple-point games for the Penguins (3g, 4a)... Nolan Schaefer, who was 0-3-0 in three appearances with the Bears earlier this season, owns an 8-2-0 record in 11 outings with Wilkes-Barre.

Portland and Lowell try to keep their playoff hopes alive when they hook up at Tsongas Arena on Friday night... The Devils come in one point behind fourth-place Providence in the Atlantic Division; the Pirates are six points back... Portland has a 4-1-2-0 advantage in the season series, which has seen the last four meetings go to overtime... Sean Blanchard scored twice in the Pirates' 3-0 win over Manchester on Wednesday, his first AHL goals since Apr. 2, 2000, with the Lowell Lock Monsters... Devils forward Chris Minard has five goals and two assists against this season against Portland... Lowell is the least-penalized team in the league at 13.4 PIM per game, but also ranks 23rd on the penalty kill at 80.7 percent.
