Houston Aeros News Release

Eight things you need to know

- The Aeros have not held a scoring advantage in the third period in 19 of their last 23 games, including a combined 5-0 margin in the last two games. In their last 12 games, the Aeros have been outscored 16-3 in the final 20 minutes, and in their last 19 games, it has been a 26-6 deficit. Houston has been outscored 75-53 in the third period this season. The Aeros have scored the third fewest third-period goals in the AHL.

- Houston veteran RW Joey Tetarenko continued his strong play with a goal and an assist Saturday against Omaha. Tetarenko now has six points (2-4=6) in 32 games this season - doubling his goal total from his first two seasons with Houston (55 games). Tetarenko's six points are the most he has accrued since 2003-04, with AHL Lowell (1-6=7). In the last six games, Tetarenko has four points (2-2=4) and is a team-best plus-four.

- Aeros D Erik Reitz has a goal in two of the last four games - a PPG 3/20 in Manitoba, followed by his team-best third SHG of the season 3/21 in Manitoba. Reitz' goal Wednesday was his seventh - establishing a new career-best, while his 30 points are also a new career-watermark, bettering the 28 he had last season. Reitz has 10 points (4-6=10) in 18 games since 2/8. Reitz is one SHG off the team record - matched most recently by Stephane Veilleux in 2003-04. The Aeros have 14 SHG as a team - one off the 1994-95 franchise record.

- Aeros D Curtis Murphy made a fine return to the Aeros' lineup last weekend after missing five straight games - his first time being absent after 348 games with the Aeros, counting the regular- and post-season. Last Friday, Murphy scored his eighth goal of the season and the 57th of his career, tying him with 2003 Calder Cup champion teammate Kyle Wanvig for eighth on the team's all-time list. Murphy added an assist Saturday to move his point streak to a season-high four games (2-2=4).

- Houston is 9-13-3-6 in one-goal games, and just 3-10-3-2 in its last 18 such games. The Aeros have only two non shootout one-goal wins, the last coming 3-2 at Iowa 11/9. Only Syracuse (8-8-3-7) has fewer one-goal wins than the Aeros. Peoria is 17-8-2-6 in one-goal games.

- The Aeros are 1-5-1-0 in their last seven home games, and they are 13-16-1-4 at Toyota Center this season. Houston is on pace for its fewest home wins since a franchise-worst 14-24-3 mark in 1995-96. Since taking a 4-1 lead over Rochester last Friday, the Aeros have been outscored 15-2 in their last 1 1/2 games - both at Toyota Center.

- Houston's veteran C Jason Morgan picked up his 300th career point 3/21 in Winnipeg. After posting a goal and an assist last Friday against Rochester, Morgan has 302 points (98-204=302) in 622 career games in the NHL, AHL and IHL. Morgan is also closing in on 500 career AHL games. He has 274 points (91-183=274) in 496 career AHL contests.

- The six goals allowed in the second period last Saturday against Omaha is an Aeros team record for a home game. Houston had yielded five twice - the last time 1/6/06, in a 6-5 loss to Grand Rapids. Omaha also tied the most power play goals against the Aeros in a home game. Grand Rapids scored five power play goals in the same contest. Omaha scored six unanswered goals to finish Saturday's game, tying the most consecutive goals ever scored against the Aeros at home. It had happened two times previously, the last in a 10-1 loss to Orlando on 3/2/96. The Aeros allowed 10 goals in a game for just the second time in franchise history, the other being in the 10-1 loss to the Solar Bears.

Rivermen at Aeros (Aeros are 8-8-0-1 all-time, Aeros are 6-1-0-1 at Houston)

- The Aeros won six of 10 meetings in the 2005-06 regular season before sweeping Peoria in four games in the West Division Semifinals.

- Houston has just one regulation loss in eight all-time home regular season meetings with the Rivermen (6-1-0-1). Counting the playoffs, the Aeros are 8-1-0-1 at home versus Peoria.

- The Aeros play three of their final 10 games against the Rivermen - including a Tuesday tilt at Toyota Center.

- Houston's 4-3 shootout win at home 3/10 snapped a five-game winless slide (0-4-0-1) in the season series. LW Peter Olvecky scored twice in regulation and added the deciding shootout tally.
