Wolves Cast Away Admirals, 2-1

MILWAUKEE---The Chicago Wolves took the lead in the second period and never lost it, picking up a 2-1 win in an Amtrak Rivalry matchup against the Milwaukee Admirals at the Bradley Center Friday night.
Defensemen Mark Matheson and forward Tim Miller potted goals for Chicago, while goaltender Drew MacIntyre kicked out 29 of 30 shots, which includes holding Milwaukee scoreless for the first 58:17 of the game, to notch his fifth straight win.
After a scoreless 36 minutes, Chicago (31-24-2-4) took the 1-0 lead 16:05 in the middle frame. Center Andre Deveaux passed the puck back to Matheson at the top of the right faceoff circle allowing the blueliner to fire a shot that hit off the far post and into the net behind Milwaukee goaltender Anders Lindback.
Chicago pulled to 2-0 with a short-handed tally when Miller wrapped around the back of the goal and put the puck into the empty net 3:23 into the last period.
Lindback (2-1-0) stopped 29 shots for Milwaukee.
Milwaukee (33-16-2-7) ended Chicago's shutout bid with 1:43 left in the third period when center Mark Van Guilder redirected a shot from defenseman Aaron Johnson at the doorstep past MacIntyre (12-5-1).
The Wolves return to the Allstate to take on the Peoria Rivermen on Sat., Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.
