Oilers Recall Barons Goaltender Martin Gerber

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the Oklahoma City Barons, recalled goaltender Martin Gerber, Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini announced today. In a separate transaction, the Barons signed goaltender Scott Campbell to a PTO.

Gerber leaves Oklahoma City with a 19-12-3 mark, 2.49 goals against average and .917 saves percentage. This marks Gerber's second call up to the Oilers this season. During his last call up, he won both of his starts, stopping 57 of the 60 shots he faced. He is expected to be in Edmonton in time for their game this evening against the St. Louis Blues at 8 p.m. (ct).

With the departure of Gerber on call up to Edmonton, the Barons signed Campbell to a PTO. Campbell, a 6-3, 190-pounder from Bloomfield, Ontario skates with the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League. With Allen this season, Campbell has a 9-2-0 mark, 3.62 goals against average and .896 saves percentage.

The Barons host the San Antonio Rampage tonight at 7:05 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. The first 2,000 kids 12-and-under through the doors will receive a free youth hockey stick. Saturday, the Barons take on the Houston Aeros at 7:05 p.m. The weekend concludes Sunday when the Barons travel to Cedar Park, Texas to play the Texas Stars at 5 p.m.
