SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Albany Devils, who were winners of three of their last four games, were slowed down by the Springfield Falcons, 5-2, Friday evening at the MassMutual Center. Prough netted his second goal in as many games 5:41 into the contest. Falcons' netminder David LeNeveu mishandled the puck behind his net and Prough was in front to take advantage of the miscue. The goal was unassisted.

Leblond's goal came late in the game after he found a rebound off a blast by Darcy Zajac at 17:35 of the third. J.S. Berube added the second assist. The goal was Leblond's third of the season and, like Prough, his second in as many games.

Maksim Mayorov increased the Falcons' lead to 3-1 at 10:10 of the second period; then Tomas Kubalik and Tomas Kana scored 15 seconds apart to make it 5-1. Kubalik netted a power-play goal at 18:02 and Kana found the back of the net at 18:17.

Dave Caruso made his 14th appearance of the season and made 15 saves on 20 shots. He entered the game with a three wins in his last three starts. Mike McKenna supplied 20 minutes of relief and stopped all five shots he faced. For Springfield, LeNeveu earned his 15th win of the season with 25 stops on 27 shots.

Albany skated with 11 forwards and seven defenseman and d-man Dan Kelly skated up front.

The Devils play game two of their three-game weekend on Saturday, Feb. 26 at Hershey. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. and fans can follow the action on 104.5 FM "The Team" ESPN Radio.
