
Wolves Announce October Award Winners

The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce their players of the month award winners for the month of October.
TRAVELODGE SUDBURY COMMUNITY PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Sudbury Wolves forward NICHOLAS BAPTISTE has been named the TRAVELODGE COMMUNITY PLAYER OF THE MONTH for his outstanding contribution to the City of Greater Sudbury during the month of October. BAPTISTE participated in many events within our community over the past month. He was involved in delivering tickets to both elementary and secondary schools across Greater Sudbury as part of the Sudbury Wolves School Ticket program sponsored by Bob's Service Centre. BAPTISTE was also been involved in community events such as the grand re-opening of the Tim Horton's on LaSalle and attending the Big Nickel press conference on behalf of the Sudbury Wolves Organization.
MOLSON CANADIAN 3-STAR AWARD
Through his outstanding play, TROY TIMPANO has been awarded the MOLSON CANADIAN 3-STAR AWARD. Being named 1st star once and second star of the game 3 times, TIMPANO'S efforts on the ice have not gone unnoticed. The 6'1" goalie from Pickering, Ontario has saved 406 shots on net in the first month of the season. The 16-year-old currently holds a save percentage of 0.885 and will be looked upon by the Wolves organization to continue his strong play in net over the course of the season.
SCHOLASTIC PLAYER OF THE MONTH
The academic player of the month goes to MICHAEL PEZZETTA, who is currently attending grade 11 at LaSalle Secondary School. PEZZETTA is proving he is just as smart in the books as he is on the ice. He is currently taking three grade 11 university level courses and has a 94% average in English, math and physics. PEZZETTA is currently representing Team Canada White at the U-17 tournament in Sarnia.
RYOBI HARDEST WORKING FORWARD
The RYOBI HARDEST WORKING FORWARD for the month of October is #94 BRODY SILK. SILK is entering his 5th season with the Sudbury Wolves and is the co-captain for the 2014/15 season. After being sidelined last season with a shoulder injury, he has returned this season stronger than ever. SILK currently sits with 2 goals, 2 assists and 25 penalty minutes in 16 games. The Sudbury Wolves will continue to look to Brody for his leadership and hard working play throughout the season.
RYOBI HARDEST WORKING DEFENCEMAN
The 20-year-old defenceman, JEFF CORBETT has been named RYOBI HARDEST WORKING DEFENCEMAN for the month of October. The Uxbridge, ON native is entering his 5th season with the Sudbury Wolves and is providing some much needed leadership on the blueline. CORBETT works hard each and every minute he is on the ice. In 16 games this season, CORBETT has 2 goals and 9 assists for a total of 11 point.
SKATER'S EDGE PLAYER OF THE MONTH
MATT SCHMALZ is the winner of the SKATER'S EDGE PLAYER OF THE MONTH for October.The Dunnville, Ontario native is off an excellent start this season with 11 points in 16 games. SCHMALZ, 18, is the team's top goal scorer notching 9 goals and adding 2 assists. The hardworking centre plays in all situations and is a difficult player to play against. The Sudbury Wolves are fortunate to have MATT SCHMALZ representing the Wolves organization on and off the ice this season.
Player of the month awards will be handed out prior to this weekend's double-header action beginning tonight when the Barrie Colts come to town at 7:30PM.
