Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs beat the Mississauga Steelheads 3-0 in Mississauga for their second straight win.
Billy Jenkins and Mikkel Aagaard both beat Steelheads goaltender Spencer Martin in the first period, picking up where the IceDogs left off after their win against the Erie Otters last night.
After a scoreless second, the IceDogs carried the 2-0 lead into the third period, until Graham Knott finished off a gorgeous passing play on the power play to give the IceDogs a three goal lead. It was the IceDogs fourth power play goal in the last three games. The IceDogs would hold on to that lead to win their second game in as many nights.
Brandon Hope, who was making his IceDogs debut, made 34 saves for the win and the shutout as he put on a show in the crease.
The IceDogs will finish off the weekend with their third game in three days tomorrow night, when the Sarnia Sting visit the Meridian Centre for the first time.
