Wolves Acquire Former NBA G League All-Star Xavier Silas in Trade with Suns

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves, the NBA G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, today acquired the rights to former NBA G League All-Star Xavier Silas and Roddy Peters, the No. 16 overall pick in the 2018 NBA G League Draft.

Per the terms of today's trade, Iowa agreed to send No. 11 overall 2018 NBA G League Draft pick Daxter Miles Jr. and a 2019 second round pick to Northern Arizona.

Silas, 30, has accumulated more than 2,700 points and recorded over 870 field goals (including over 400 three-point field goals made) during his five-year career in the NBA G League. During the 2017-18 season, Silas averaged 18.4 points on 43.8% shooting from the field (38.0% shooting from the three-point line and 88.2% from the charity stripe), 4.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 43 games. He earned a GATORADE Call-Up with the Boston Celtics on March 28, 2018, appearing in two games for the Celtics.

Peters, 23, was selected by the Suns with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2018 NBA G League Draft. He played his last two seasons at Nicholls State, averaging 19.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists his senior year.
