Skyforce Select Two Players in the 2018 NBA G League Draft

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that they have selected two players in this year's NBA G League Draft, including Jalen Hayes (40th overall), and Juwan Howard Jr. (43rd overall), both selected in the second round.
Hayes, who went undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft, played four seasons for Oakland University after redshirting his freshman year. He appeared in 134 games (118 starts) and averaged 18.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game as a senior during the 2017-18 season. Hayes was selected to the Horizon All-League First Team in both 2018 and 2017, the Horizon All-League Second team in 2016, and was selected to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team in 2015. Hayes scored a career-high 37 points against Eastern Michigan on December 22, 2017.
After beginning his career at Western Michigan, Howard Jr. transferred to the University of Detroit Mercy for his final three collegiate seasons. In total, he appeared in 131 games (93 starts) and averaged career numbers of 13.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. As a senior during the 2014-15 season, Howard Jr. averaged 17.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting a career-high 40.8 percent from three-point range. He was named to the Horizon All-League Second Team in both 2014 and 2015.
Since his college career ended, Howard Jr. has also appeared twice for the Miami HEAT during the NBA Summer League. In total, he appeared in 12 games for the HEAT's summer squad, averaging 4.7 points in 8.5 minutes per game.
