Wolf Pack Weekly, October 24-30

October 24, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL) - Hartford Wolf Pack News Release

WOLF PACK WEEKLY: October 24-30, 2016 For a second straight week, the Wolf Pack split a pair of games this past weekend, this time winning on the road and losing on home ice. Saturday night saw the Pack post their first away victory of the season, triumphing at Lehigh Valley 5-4 in overtime. Tanner Glass had Hartford's first multiple-goal game of the year in that contest, with two scores, and Nicklas Jensen notched the game-winner at 1:55 of OT. On Sunday, however, the St. John's IceCaps gained revenge on the Wolf Pack for their 6-3 defeat at the hands of the Pack on opening night, as the IceCaps handed the Wolf Pack their first home setback of the campaign, 5-2. Marek Hrivik and Matt Carey scored the Hartford goals in that game, both notching their second markers of the season.

This week: The Wolf Pack continue a six-game homestand, their longest of the season, with three XL Center dates. The Atlantic Division-rival Hershey Bears make their first visit of the season to Hartford on Wednesday night for a 7:00 PM game, and then the Pack get another look at the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Friday at 7:15. The weekend concludes with the Utica Comets coming to town on Saturday night, with faceoff at 7:00.

Wednesday, October 26 vs. the Hershey Bears (Washington) at the XL Center, 7:00 PM * This is another Wolf Pack "Click It or Ticket Family Value Pack" game. The Family Value Pack includes two tickets, two sodas and two hot dogs, all for just $40.

* Once again this season, every Wednesday-night home game is a "Winning Wednesday". If the Wolf Pack win, fans can show their Winning Wednesday ticket at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center and receive a free ticket to the next Wolf Pack home game, which is this Friday, October 28 vs. Lehigh Valley (some restrictions apply).

* The Bears took three out of a possible four points in a pair of home games this past weekend, with a 5-2 win over Bridgeport on Saturday night and a 2-1 overtime loss to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday, after a pair of road defeats on the opening weekend of the season.

* Both Ryan and Chris Bourque, the former Wolf Pack brother combo, are back with the Bears this season. Chris Bourque's four points (0-4-4) currently lead the Hershey club.

* This is the first of eight meetings on the season between the Wolf Pack and Bears, and the first of four Hershey visits to Hartford. The two clubs clashed four times last season, and the Wolf Pack went 3-0-1-0, including a sweep of the two games played at the XL Center, a 4-3 shootout final December 4 and a 5-1 verdict April 1. * Tickets for this and all 2016-17 Wolf Pack home games are on sale now at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499. Tickets purchased in advance for kids 12 or younger are just $10 each, and all tickets will have a $2 day-of-game increase. * Broadcast - live with Bob Crawford and Mark Bailey on News Radio 1410 WPOP, on-line at newsradio1410.iheart.com and on iHeartRadio. Video streaming at www.ahllive.com.

Friday, October 28 vs. the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (Philadelphia) at the XL Center, 7:15 PM * At this and every Friday-night home game this season, fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs and $2 beers through the start of the second period. * This is already the second battle of the year between the Wolf Pack and the Phantoms, who played an entertaining tilt Saturday night at the PPL Center in Allentown, PA. The Wolf Pack eventually prevailed in that one, 5-4 in overtime, after Lehigh Valley battled back from 3-1 and 4-3 deficits to tie the game in the third period. * This is the Phantoms' first of five straight road games after playing their first three at home. Head Coach Scott Gordon's club had at least a point in two of those three outings, with an opening-night win over Springfield and a 5-2 Friday-night loss to Bridgeport to go with their overtime defeat to the Wolf Pack. * A trio of forwards, Danick Martel (2-1-3), Chris Conner (1-2-3) and Andy Miele (1-2-3), are tied for the Phantom team scoring lead with three points apiece.

Saturday, October 29 vs. the Utica Comets (Vancouver) at the XL Center, 7:00 PM * The first 2,000 fans into this game will receive the first of four sets of Wolf Pack 20th-anniversary trading cards that will be given away during this 2016-17 season, presented by KOTA Solutions. The set will be comprised of the first group of the players chosen as the top 20 all-time in franchise history. * This game will also feature the Wolf Pack's "Howl-o-ween" celebration. * The Wolf Pack and Comets kick off a four-game season series with this matchup. The two teams also saw one another four times last year, and the Wolf Pack took three of the four contests. The two XL Center meetings produced a split, with the Pack winning 3-0 October 17 and losing 3-2 to the Comets on November 22. * Head Coach Travis Green's Comets are off to a 1-3-0-0 start, with all of their first four games having been on the road. Prior to coming to the XL Center, Utica will play at home Wednesday vs. Binghamton and Friday against Providence. * Former Wolf Pack forward Jayson Megna (1-2-3) scored the game-winning goal in the Comets' only win thus far, a 5-4 triumph in Syracuse on Friday night.
