Ontario Reign Weekly: Reign Travel to Texas to Open a Five-Game Road

The Week That Was... The Ontario Reign celebrated Opening Weekend at Citizens Business Bank Arena last Friday and Saturday, earning a weekend record of 1-0-1-0 to improve to 2-0-1-0 overall.

The Reign battled the Texas Stars in the opening contest and jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first period. Vincent LoVerde scored twice and Zach Leslie and T.J. Hensick added power-play markers for the early advantage. The Stars fought back with a pair of goals in the second and third periods to force overtime where less than a minute into the extra skate, Jonny Brodzinski sealed a 6-5 victory for the Reign. Netminder Jack Campbell recorded 30 saves for the win against his former team. Watch Highlights

The high-scoring attack shifted into Saturday's tilt against the San Jose Barracuda. Patrick Bjorkstrand netted two goals and Brett Sutter and Andrew Crescenzi added markers, but the Barracuda prevailed in overtime, 5-4. Goaltender Jonah Imoo made 26 saves in the loss. Watch Highlights

Reign Fall in Overtime on Historical Night Ontario, CA - Netminders Jonah Imoo and Dusty Imoo became the first father-son goaltending duo in AHL history as the Ontario Reign (2-1-1-0) suffered a suspenseful 5-4 overtime loss to the San Jose Barracuda (1-1-0-0) on Saturday night in front of a crowd of 8,282 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Jonah made his AHL debut after goaltender Jack Campbell was recalled from the Los Angeles Kings early this morning and provided 26 saves in the overtime loss. Recap
