Wolf Pack Pre-Game Block Party, New Pack Shop and 10th Anniversary Home Opener

WHO / WHAT: The Hartford Wolf Pack will celebrate the start of its 10th season of play in Hartford tomorrow, Saturday, October 7th as they take on the Springfield Falcons (game time: 7:00 PM). However, before the puck drops on the 06-07 season, the Pack will host a pre-game block party for fans in front of the Civic Center on Trumbull Street from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. The block party will feature live music from the popular Hartford band Tenet, inflatables, food, drinks, contests, giveaways, face painters, clowns, an inflatable hockey shot game and the popular Money Machine sponsored by TD Banknorth.

The night will also feature the grand opening of the Hartford Wolf Pack "Pack Shop,"

which has been moved from Allyn Street into the newly renovated Hartford Civic Center Mall. The store is located to the right of the Civic Center Box Office on the left-hand side of the escalators. Fans are encouraged to stop by and check out the Wolf Pack hockey rink replica-tiled floor and new 10th Anniversary merchandise!

The Wolf Pack home opener vs. Springfield will kick-off at 7:00 PM. All fans will receive a free magnetic season schedule, sponsored by The Hartford, and the first 5,000 fans through the door will receive a special 10th Anniversary Commemorative Ticket giveaway sponsored by Verizon Wireless. A special pre-game ceremony is also planned, with a laser and pyrotechnics show, retrospective season opening video, the introduction of the 2006-07 Wolf Pack and a ceremonial puck drop by the Wolf Pack's first head coach, E.J. McGuire and fan favorite P.J. Stock.
