DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Stars and Mediacom Connections are proud to announce that the Stars television show, Iowa Stars Extra, will again broadcast on the Mediacom Connections Channel. The 2006-07 season premiere is schedule to run the entire week staring on Monday, October 9th at 3:00 PM.
Iowa Stars Extra aims to give Iowa Stars fans insight on Stars players as well as chance see the team on a whole new level.
The first show will include in-studio guests: Forward Krys Barch and Stars President John Pettit. There is also a segment with Assistant Coach Paul Jerrard and the Stars work with Habitat for Humanity. Also, watch time-lapsed imagery of the Wells Fargo Arena ice installation.
Additional air dates for the season premiere are as follows: Monday, October 9th at 3:00 PM; Tuesday, October 10th at 6:00 PM; Wednesday, October 11th at 1:30 PM and on Thursday, October 12th at 2:30 PM.
"We are excited to expand on last season's show and continue to bring Iowa Stars fans every opportunity to get to know their Iowa Stars players", commented Stars President John Pettit. "Our great partnership with Mediacom allows us to continue to grow our fan-base, while also providing our core fans some extra chances to follow their favorite players".
The Connections Channel is Mediacom's statewide network that provides Iowans with coverage of state and local sports and community events. It is located at channel 22 for most areas of the state. Check local listing for your community's Mediacom Connections Channel (Ch. 74 in Iowa City; Ch. 18 in Northwest Iowa).
IOWA STARS INFO: The Stars Opening Night is scheduled for Thursday, October 12th against Houston. Wells Fargo Arena game time is 7:05 PM. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the Opening Night festivities. Season ticket packages are on sale now at the Stars office, located at 833 5th Avenue in Downtown Des Moines. Full season packages begin at only $336, with 12-game mini-plans as low as $168. Discounted group tickets are available for all 40 home dates.
