DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Stars begin their 2006-07 American Hockey League (AHL) season this weekend when they travel to Texas to take on the San Antonio Rampage on Saturday night and the Houston Aeros on Sunday afternoon. The team then returns to Wells Fargo Arena on Thursday night and begins their second season of professional hockey in Downtown Des Moines. The October 12th game will begin at 7:05 PM.
Prior to Thursday's game, the Stars and the Iowa Events Center will beholding a block party to signal the start of Iowa Stars Hockey. There will be $1 hot dogs, drink specials as well as various other activities.
