Moose Release Ayers from PTO

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have released goaltender Mike Ayers from his pro tryout contract.

Ayers, 26, did not see any action this season with the Moose. Last year, he split time between the AHL's Syracuse Crunch and the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL. The Hingham, MA native appeared in 23 games with the Crunch where he compiled a 12-8-1 record with a 2.66 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. In 25 games in Dayton, Ayers was 8-14-2 with a 3.43 goals against average and .894 save percentage. In 26 career AHL games, Ayers is 13-8-2 with a 2.60 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.
