Winterhawks Cancel Next Friday's Preseason Game

The Portland Winterhawks have canceled next Friday's preseason game that had been scheduled for 3:30 p.m. against the Everett Silvertips at Winterhawks Skating Center. The game will instead be played in Everett that night at 7:05 p.m.
The cancelation is a result of repairs being done to the roof of the Skating Center, causing a deterioration of the ice. After carefully monitoring the arena's ice conditions over the last week, it was deemed that the ice would not be in good enough condition to hold a game by next Friday afternoon.
Fans who purchased tickets by credit card will automatically be issued refunds. Fans who paid cash can bring their tickets back to the team's office in Veterans Memorial Coliseum where they will be issued a refund.
The repairs to the roof are not expected to impact any other events or activities at the rink.
