Rockets, Blazers Play Preseason Home and Home

The Kelowna Rockets will get re-aquainted with its closest rival this weekend as the Rockets and Kamloops Blazers will play a home-and-home series beginning Friday night in Kamloops.

It's the continuation of a five game WHL exhibition schedule for Kelowna, which kicked off the preseason with a 3-2 win last weekend against Prince George.

Many youngsters will be in the lineups this weekend as the annual exodus to NHL training camps is underway. Twelve Rockets in total are at NHL camps with 11 of them potentially able to return to Kelowna.

But the Rockets are not expecting captain Madison Bowey as well as Leon Draisaitl or Josh Morrissey back with the team this year. As well Tyrell Goulbourne has graduated from the team while eight other players are at camp and expected to return at some point.

Those players at various camps and expected back at some point are Nick Merkley (Arizona), Rourke Chartier (San Jose), Justin Kirkland (Nashville),Tyson Baillie (Calgary), Cole Linaker (Edmonton), Tomas Soustal, (Calgary), Devante Stephens (Buffalo) and Jackson Whistle (Vancouver).
