Saskatoon Blades News Release

The Saskatoon Blades have traded 1998-born forward Igor Lariononv Jr. to the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for a conditional 3rd round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft, and 1998-born American forward Garrett Wait. The Blades acquired Larionov Jr. off of league waivers last month.

"At this time we feel very comfortable with our own young players and wish Igor the best in Portland." said Head Coach and GM Bob Woods.

Garrett Wait is a top young 1998-born centre who recently played for Team USA at the Ivan Hlinka U18 World Championship. He is currently committed to the University of Minnesota and will move to the Blades' college protected list.

"Garret is a top flight young prospect who has had an excellent start to his career in Minnesota. We look forward to the opportunity of speaking to Garrett and his family about the benefits of playing in Saskatoon at some point in his career." Managing Partner, Colin Priestner added.

The Blades travel to Prince Albert tonight for their second pre-season game of the year. You can follow along on twitter @bladeshockey or on 92.9 The Bull.
